Ariadne Eldier
Ariadne Eldier experienced so much abuse from her birth father, her consciousness left her body and ended up in a divine library, where she meets (Pie), a spirit (?), who oversees the library. There Ariadne learns about her past life as a Korean and gets to read the plot of her life beforehand, learning she would die a horrible death by the age of 16, she wows to change her fate. This opportunity would soon be granted; however, her journey isn’t exactly 100% smooth sailing from then on out.
The World of ‚The Hero’s Savior ‘
This webtoon is set in a medieval fantasy world with nobility, duchies, and kingdoms. Not only that, but there are also demon worshipping dark mages who try to summon Saytan (yep literally Satan) and destroy the world for some reason… Having a deep insight into the characteristics of everything around her, Ariadne is navigating a maze of possibilities and changing future scenarios. Having been able to read about how the world ends places a lot of responsibility on Aria, making her the sole potential savior of the world.
Characters
Ariadne’s father is the worst scum of the earth, not only did he kill her mother, but he also made her a human experimenting subject – all that just to create a miracle elixir. Hands down one of the vilest human beings to be depicted in a romance isekai webtoon to date. Responsible for so much pain and suffering, his downfall is one of the most pleasant reading experiences.
Her maternal grandfather Solan Garcia, is the greatest magician in the empire and the father of the current duke, he’s also the one in whom Aria places all her faith, in order to escape her father’s grip, coming to terms with his past mistakes, he embraces her as his own and will do anything to keep his precious granddaughter happy and safe.
Then there is the male lead, him and Ariadne share a complicated relationship, as she mainly sees him as the novel’s protagonist and tries her best to support him from the shadows while actively avoid him, of course that whole plan is futile, and they end up meeting each other anyways.
Art & Style
The artwork and illustration are a noteworthy part of ‘The Hero’s Savior’. The detailed character designs, expressive expressions, and vibrant settings enhance the overall reading experience, creating an immersive world for the story narrative. Regardless of individual preferences for other aspects of the story, the art stands out as a compelling and captivating element that adds depth and richness to the storytelling. If you appreciate well-crafted visuals that complement a narrative, you’re likely to find the artwork in this story to be a standout feature worth experiencing.
What’s great
The Hero’s Savior features a well-balanced, gradual character development and world building – things aren’t rushed but don’t get unnecessarily dragged out either, making for a very enjoyable pace.
Ariadne Eldier: The protagonist’s mental resilience and strength are on a completely unhuman level, anybody else who’d have to suffer that kind of abuse would turn into a ‘Redo of Healer’ type of protagonist, not a kind soul trying to save as many people as possible.
‘The Hero’s Savior’ is a tremendously well illustrated webtoon, and a standout in the revenge / romance genre for sure, if you’re into beautiful visuals, you should give this manhwa a try for sure.
Should I read ‘The Hero’s Savior‘?
If you enjoy an engaging romance isekai story, which keeps you wanting to read more, look no further – The Hero’s Savoir serves both fans of wholesome moments and those looking for a deeper story too. Aria’s struggles with her past abuse, her mother’s death, and the looming end of the world, brought forth by crazy demon worshippers, add an unexpected level of depth to the story, making it a rare case for a romance isekai.
If you enjoy smart, strong and goal oriented female protagonists, you should give The Hero’s Savior a chance too, Aria being a likeable, yet perfectly imperfect, makes her the perfect protagonist for any female MC revenge-isekai enjoyer out there.
Be aware before reading
The Hero’s Savior features some very intensely described domestic abuse / torture / human experimentation, if these topics are too heavy, you should skip this webtoon. Other than that, there are some fairly brutal scenes, if those aren’t your cup of tea either, this revenge plot may not be for you either.
Currently the webtoon is on hiatus as we await season 2, the first season didn’t really feature any romance at all, even though this is a romance story, the first season has been mainly dedicated to revenge and laying the base for the further plot – if you absolutely want to experience romance right away, The Hero’s Savior might not be the right fit for you.
Aria has got a little bit of a savior complex going on too, which is fair, since she is the only one who knows how the world might end, but nonetheless, some people might get turned off by that trait, so be aware before reading!
Special Features
The detailed and extensive trauma experienced by Aria feels like a special feature, even though it isn’t the most original trope out there, the execution seems to be a lot better than usual – you tend to feel for Aria, wishing for her to succeed, even if she were to make a mistake. Her trauma related mental maturity might be downright depressing at times but is worth it since it adds so much to her character.
Summary

‘The Hero’s Savior’ effectively balances character development and world-building and staying engaged without unnecessary drag. The protagonist, Ariadne Eldier, stands out for her resilience and strength amidst trauma, making her a relatable and compelling character. The artwork is a standout feature, since its detailed designs and vibrant settings, enhance the overall reading experience a lot. While the story offers deeper themes, such as trauma and redemption, it also includes intense themes of abuse and torture, which may not be suitable for all readers. Despite this, “The Hero’s Savior” stands out as a compelling read for fans of romance-revenge isekai.
